Dear esteemed members of the OSDD community,
It is with pleasure that we inform the OSDD community that OSDD has established a CSIR-OSDD Research Unit at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore; as an open lab for facilitating OSDD’s drug discovery efforts. The facility was dedicated to the OSDD community by Dr. P. Balaram, Director, IISc in the presence of Prof. S. K. Brahmachari, Chief Mentor OSDD, Sir Tom Blendell, Cambridge University and Dr. T.S. Balganesh, Head OSDD Unit.
OSDD Research Unit @ IISc is an open lab where any member of OSDD community is welcome to come in and spent time on any research problem posted on the Sysborg portal. Dr. T.S. Balganesh, Head OSDD Unit and renowned scientist on TB drug discovery will be functioning from the Unit and will be available for guidance. Dr. U.C. Jaleel (jaleel.uc@gmail.com) will be the PI in charge of the Unit.
As there will be requests from multiple PI’s and as a number of collaborative projects with IISc is also expected, you are requested to inform Dr. Jaleel in advance to book your slot for your research visit. You will always be served on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The address of the Unit is 2nd Floor Society for Innovation and Development building, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. You may contact the Unit by calling the OSDD helpline
080 23603411.
The Unit also invites researchers on TB, Malaria, drug discovery and development to spent short sabbatical periods doing specific projects of interest to the OSDD community.
As with all OSDD efforts, this Unit is dedicated to the neglected patients around the world.
With warm regards   Zakir Thomas Project Director, OSDD
